This wood cutting board has a great size and feel to it. You won’t be disappointed with the quality and build of this particular kitchen tool. Our 2” thick cherry butcher blocks are built for longevity and are just as structurally sound and durable as they are beautiful and rich in tone.
Cherry has a very warm and natural glow that will darken and season with each use. This means that your beautiful butcher block will only continue to become richer in tone with time and will also harden further with age as well. That’s why it is considered one of the best woods for hardwood flooring, guitar bodies, gun stocks, car interiors, drum sets, furniture, cabinetry, furniture, countertops, veneers, and other handmade items including, of course, cutting boards and butcher blocks.
Cherry wood has a Janka hardness rating between 950 lbf (4,200 N) and 995 lbf (4,430 N) depending on whether it is black or brazilian cherry. This makes it naturally strong and durable which is why it functions as a great cutting board material. Its end grain pattern also keeps your knife stable as it cuts with the direction of the wood fibers. With all of this said, it’s clear to see why our butcher blocks can handle daily use for years and potential fall or water damage without bending, cracking, warping, drying out, our chipping along the way.
Furthermore, cherry wood also self heals which makes it ideal for cutting board and butcher block production. Each cutting board is handmade to ensure the utmost level of quality and craftsmanship. We use beautiful and very durable wood blends, all up to 2” thick. During our build process, we pay attention to the finest details, which truly make our boards stand out from other brands, as well as generic boards you find elsewhere.
If you ordered accessories or engraving, we will next install these features after the board has been constructed, followed by the staining and sealing process.
Step 3: Packaging & Prepare for Shipping
Each cutting board is securely packaged to prevent damage during shipping. We use both UPS & Fedex shipping methods, and your cutting board will arrive with instructions on proper usage.
