Custom Cutting Boards

Up to 2″ Inches Thick | Made in the USA | Free Shipping | 30-Day Guarantee

Most cutting boards are bought and forgotten. Ours are kept, used daily, and passed down. Every board we make starts as carefully selected American hardwood, goes through an 8-step build process in our Nampa, Idaho shop, and arrives at your door pre-oiled and ready to work. Whether you’re buying for your own kitchen, giving it as a gift, or commissioning a custom piece — you’re getting the last cutting board you’ll ever need to buy.

cherry wood cutting boards

Face Grain Cutting Boards

Face grain boards are the showpiece of any kitchen. The wide face of the wood is front and center, revealing the full sweep of the grain — warm amber in cherry, pale cream in maple, deep chocolate in walnut. These boards are milled up to 2 inches thick, which isn’t just for looks. Extra thickness means more surface life, better shock absorption, and far less risk of warping over time. If you want a board that belongs on the counter even when you’re not cooking, face grain is the answer.

edge grain cutting boards

Edge-Grain Cutting Boards

Edge grain boards show the long edge of each wood strip — a tighter, more linear pattern that many chefs and serious home cooks prefer for daily prep work. The surface is exceptionally durable and resists deep scoring better than softer boards. Like all our cutting boards, edge grain boards are built up to 2 inches thick, fully customizable with engravings, juice grooves, handles, and rubber feet, and finished with food-safe mineral oil. A step up from anything you’ll find in a store.

custom wood butcher blocks

End Grain Butcher Blocks

End grain is the pinnacle of cutting board craftsmanship. Each block is assembled from hundreds of individual wood pieces — oriented so the end of the grain faces up, the same way it grows in the tree. The result is a surface that is self-healing: knife marks close back up rather than accumulating. End grain butcher blocks are the preferred surface of professional butchers and serious home cooks for a reason. These are heirloom-quality pieces built for decades of use. Available in cherry, maple, and walnut.

Round Edge Grain Cutting Boards

Not every board needs corners. Our round cutting boards bring the same premium construction — up to 2 inches thick, locally sourced hardwood, food-safe finish — in a form that works beautifully as a serving board, charcuterie base, or everyday prep surface. Available in multiple sizes and wood species. A natural conversation piece that earns its place on any table.

Our Boards vs. the Competition

How Every Board Is Made

There are no shortcuts here. Every board is built to order — not pulled from a shelf. When you place an order, a craftsman in our Idaho shop gets to work. Here’s exactly what happens before your board ships.

Step 1. Order Placed

Your build is scheduled immediately. Every detail — size, wood, add-ons, engraving — is confirmed before any lumber is touched.

Step 2. Wood Selection

We hand-select hardwood from trusted local suppliers in the Boise area. Grain, moisture content, and color are all evaluated before a single cut is made.

Step 3. Milling & Assembly

Boards are planed to exact thickness, arranged for structural stability and visual balance, then glued and clamped under controlled pressure with waterproof adhesive.

Step 4. Sanding & Detailing

Every board is progressively sanded through multiple grits until the surface is silky smooth. Edges are softened. Tool marks are eliminated. We don’t rush this step.

Step 5. Custom Engraving

If you added engraving, every design is reviewed before the laser runs. After engraving, the board is lightly re-sanded to preserve sharp, clean detail.

Step 6. Sealing & Conditioning

Boards are conditioned multiple times with food-safe mineral oil — penetrating deep into the grain, not just coating the surface.

Step 7. Inspection & Packaging

Every board is hand-inspected before packaging. If it doesn’t meet our standard, it doesn’t ship. Period.

Step 8. Shipped To You

Carefully wrapped and shipped free via UPS or FedEx to all lower 48 states. Typical lead time: 12–15 business days.

Custom Engraving: Turn Any Board Into a Gift

We offer precision laser engraving on every board we make. Text, initials, logos, dates, illustrations — if you can design it, we can engrave it. Every engraving is reviewed for accuracy before it touches the board, and every engraved board is lightly re-sanded after to preserve crisp, clean lines.
